A Review of Predictive and Prescriptive Offshore Wind Farm Operation and Maintenance

چکیده

Offshore wind farms are a rapidly developing source of clean, low-carbon energy and as they continue to grow in scale capacity, so does the requirement for their efficient optimised operation maintenance. Historically, approaches maintenance have been purely reactive. However, there is movement offshore wind, wider industry general, towards more proactive, condition-based which rely on operational data-driven decision making. This paper reviews current efforts proactive strategies, both predictive prescriptive, latter an evolution former. Both use data determine whether turbine component will fail order provide sufficient warning carry out necessary Prescriptive strategies also actions, incorporating predictions into plan address predicted failure modes. Beginning with summary common techniques used across this review moves discuss respective applications concludes suggested areas future work, underlining need models can be simply incorporated by site operators integrate live whilst handling uncertainties. A further focus medium-term planning highlighted along consideration question how quantify impact strategy.

Advanced logistics planning for offshore wind farm operation and maintenance activities

Offshore wind turbine technology is moving forward as a cleaner alternative to the fossil fuelled power production. However, there are a number of challenges in offshore; wind turbines are subject to different loads that are not often experienced onshore and more importantly challenging wind and wave conditions limit the operability of the vessels needed to access offshore wind farms. As the po...

PHM Based Predictive Maintenance Option Model for Offshore Wind Farm O&M Optimization

A simulation-based real options analysis (ROA) approach is used to determine the optimum predictive maintenance opportunity for multiple wind turbines with remaining useful life (RUL) predictions in offshore wind farms managed under outcome-based contracts, i.e., power purchase agreements (PPAs). When an RUL is predicted for a subsystem in a single turbine using PHM, a predictive maintenance op...

A Dynamic Model for Supporting Decisions Regarding the Operation and Maintenance of Offshore Wind Farms

ccess to an offshore wind turbine is greatly limited by the environment; consequently operation and maintenance (O&M) can become more sporadic and infrequent. This reduces the turbine availability, thus decreasing the generated output [1]. O&M is already a large part of the life costs of a turbine, but with offshore turbines, this will increase greatly with the inclusion of vessel hire costs [2...

Development of a Maintenance Option Model to Optimize Offshore Wind Farm Sustainment

This paper presents a method that uses a simulation-based real options analysis to determine the value of waiting after obtaining a remaining useful life (RUL) indication from prognostics and health management (PHM) structures within a wind turbine. This methodology potentially allows the threshold for maintenance to be optimized in real-time based on the state of health of the turbine, the ant...

Strategic Maintenance Scheduling of an Offshore Wind Farm in a Deregulated Power System

This paper proposes a model for strategic maintenance scheduling of offshore wind farms (SMSOWF) in a deregulated power system. The objective of the model is to plan the maintenance schedules in a way to maximize the profit of the offshore wind farm. In addition, some network constraints, such as transmission lines capacity, and wind farm constraints, such as labor working shift, wave height li...
